Part-Time Foundation Musical Theatre Course

Musical Theatre Foundation Course

1 Year Part Time

About

The foundation course acts as the first stepping stone in your training to becoming a highly skilled performing artist. Focusing on the principle disciplines of a Musical Theatre performer, you will gain knowledge and experience in the techniques used by West End and International artists. You will also begin to consider your own casting type and develop a repertoire of songs and scenes to show you off to the best of your ability. We offer this course in small class sizes to enable you to have the most focused learning experience possible, providing you with invaluable conversations with industry professionals.

The course runs at our studios in Latimer Road, on Mondays and Tuesdays (6:30pm-9:30pm) and Sundays (10:30am-6:00pm), allowing those training to work alongside their studies.  It was designed for performers who are considering doing Musical Theatre professionally and need to build on their skillset.  Please note, that whilst this course is designed to run for a full academic year, there are options to enrol on a termly basis.

Foundation students will work with the same tutors and professionals as the Diploma and degree courses. The programme will focus on growing your skill and experience in Singing, Acting and Dance:

  • Regular classes focusing on developing your vocal technique
  • Several ‘Acting through Song’ classes per week to refine your performance and audition skills
  • Singing Repertoire to help prepare your sheet music and audition cuts
  • Text-based Acting work to build your confidence and skill with verse, prose, lyrics and scripts
  • Dance classes covering Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Fitness as well as Dance Routine classes

At Associated Studios, we are passionate about Musical Theatre and have forged strong and trusted links with eminent industry professionals in both the UK and Internationally.  We take pride in developing performers of the highest calibre. You will be challenged, nurtured and inspired to work to the best of your ability.
