Nick Barstow is a musical director, arranger, composer and vocalist. This summer he will be presenting the London premiere of Miller and Tysen’s Burnt Part Boys at the Park Theatre, composing the incidental music for a new production of Comedy Of Errors on tour and at the play’s first ever London home Gray’s In Hall and is currently filming with Gareth Malone for a forthcoming BBC TV series. He recently presented his debut solo show at The Pheasantry with a host of West End actors including alumni of Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Showboat, Shrek and Urinetown As an orchestrator his work has been performed around the world, recently at The English Theatre of Tel Aviv and the Royal Festival Hall under the baton of comedian and Maestro winner Sue Perkins. Nick is also co-founder and MD of successful vocal group AfterParty, performing their unique high-energy brand of pop a cappella across the UK and around the world. Recently the group have performed at the St James Theatre, Aldwych Theatre, Arts Theatre, Dominion Theatre, The View From The Shard and King’s Place as well as for numerous high profile events nationwide including the Covent Garden Christmas Lights Switch On 2015 and Sport Relief 2016. Their debut album will be released in July 2016. Other recent credits as Musical Director / Composer include:Closer Than Ever (Pheasantry), Seasons Of Larson (Lyric Theatre West End), Princess Ida (Finborough Theatre), You Won’t Succeed On Broadway If You Don’t Have Any Jews (St James Theatre, Garrick Theatre West End), A Christmas Carol (Middle Temple Hall), Dick!, Sleeping Booty, Music Hall Menagerie (Leicester Square Theatre). Nick has also taught at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Urdang, Associated Studios and The University of Cumbria.
