A graduate of the University of Huddersfield, John Rigby completed his formal education in orchestral and choral conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music, before more recently studying with the British conductor, Martyn Brabbins.
He has worked extensively in theatre and his conducting and musical direction credits include “The Pirates of Penzance” (Savoy),”The King and I” (Palladium & UK Tour), “Les Miserables” (Palace), “Napoleon” (Shaftesbury), “The Last Empress” (Apollo, Hammersmith), “By Jeeves” (Lyric), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (Apollo, Hammersmith & UK Tour) “Marguerite” (Haymarket) as well as the German productions of “Starlight Express” (Bochum) and “Miss Saigon” (Stuttgart).
