James Cleeve’s MD credits include: A Class Act (The Landor), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Arts Theatre West End), The Sound of Music and Oliver! (Windsor Theatre Royal), Newsrevue (Canal Café Theatre), Slay it with Music (The Space Docklands/Greenwich Playhouse), Mad About the Musicals (National Tour), Waterloo (National Tour), School Ties (Catford Broadway) and Feral (Oval House Theatre), as well as numerous pantomimes across the UK. He has also MD’d for The Bridewell, Lauderdale House, The King’s Head and numerous Edinburgh Festival theatres, as well as with The West End Gospel Choir and Associated Studios.
Performance credits, on keys and accordion, include: Top Hat (Aldwych), Victor/Victoria (Southwark Playhouse) and tours of Singin’ in the Rain (UK Productions) and Cabaret (Bill Kenwright Ltd).
James Cleeve also freelances as an animateur, and has worked in this capacity with English National Opera, English Touring Opera, the Southbank Centre, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and the Royal Festival Hall. He is currently writing a new musical.
