About

This is a 1 year full-time Musical Theatre Foundation course which runs from our studios in Latimer Road.

The foundation course acts as the first stepping stone in your training to becoming a highly skilled performing artist. Focusing on the principle disciplines of a Musical Theatre performer, you will gain knowledge and experience in the techniques used by West End and International artists. You will also begin to consider your own casting type and develop a repertoire of songs and scenes to show you off to the best of your ability. We offer this course in small class sizes to enable you to have the most focused learning experience possible, providing you with invaluable conversations with industry professionals. This course is suitable for any performer who is considering doing Musical Theatre professionally. We endeavour to respond to each individual's needs and current skill level whilst guiding them to achieve the skill-set required for success within this creative industry.

Foundation students will work with the same tutors and professionals as the Core and MA courses. The programme will focus on growing your skill and experience in Singing, Acting and Dance:

  • Regular one-to-one singing lessons throughout the course
  • Several ‘Acting through Song’ classes per week to refine your performance and audition skills
  • Singing Repertoire to help prepare your sheet music and audition cuts
  • Text-based Acting work to build your confidence and skill with verse, prose, lyrics and scripts
  • Daily dance classes covering Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Fitness
  • Regular dance routine classes to explore common styles in Musical Theatre.

At Associated Studios, we are passionate about Musical Theatre and have forged strong and trusted links with eminent industry professionals in both the UK and Internationally.

Associated Studios take pride in developing performers of the highest calibre. You will be challenged, nurtured and inspired to work to the best of your ability.
