Joe Bunker

Musical Director

Joe Bunker is a musical director and vocal coach, and divides his time between musical theatre work and community singing projects. 

Recent projects include musical direction for Rock City (TAG / Celebrity Cruises) and David Greig’s award-winning play The Events (UK tour; Queen Elizabeth Hall; Curran Theatre, San Francisco; Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis). 

As an actor, Joe has been seen onstage as Professor Willard in David Cromer’s acclaimed re-imagining of Our Town at the Almeida Theatre. 

As part of the music department at Millennium Performing Arts, Joe teaches singing and musical theatre history, and is an MD for college productions. He also teaches singing on the BA and MA acting courses at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

In London, Joe has been musical director for productions including Assassins at the Pleasance Theatre, and Side by Side by Sondheim at the Headliners Club, Chiswick. 

During 2013 he was assistant vocal director for the Royal Opera House Youth Opera Company. He also works as a musical director for the National Youth Music Theatre and is the director of Barnes Community Choir.
